Technology

We use advanced technology to make your eye exam more precise, comfortable, and efficient. These tools allow us to detect issues earlier, monitor your eye health more closely, and customize your vision care to your specific needs.

Virtual Visual Field

Our virtual visual field test uses a virtual reality headset to check your peripheral (side) vision. This test plays an important role in detecting early signs of conditions like glaucoma and other neurological concerns. The immersive design also helps patients stay focused, which can improve accuracy.

OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)

OCT is one of the most powerful tools we use to assess your eye health. It creates detailed, cross-sectional images of the retina, allowing us to see layers of the eye that aren’t visible during a standard exam. This helps us detect and monitor conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other retinal issues, often before symptoms begin.

Fundus Camera

Our fundus camera captures high-resolution images of the back of your eye, including the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels. These images give us a clear baseline of your eye health and allow us to track even small changes over time, which is key for early detection and long-term care.

Handheld Tonometer

No more “puff of air.” Checking your eye pressure is an important part of preventing and managing glaucoma. We use a handheld tonometer that gently and quickly measures pressure with minimal discomfort, making the experience much easier for patients.

OPD / Autorefractor

This advanced system helps us determine a precise starting point for your prescription by analyzing how light travels through your eye. It can also map the surface of your cornea, which is especially helpful for contact lens fittings and more complex prescriptions. This allows us to fine-tune your vision for maximum clarity and comfort.

Lensometer

If you already wear glasses, this device helps us read your current prescription. This is helpful when you’re coming in with existing eyewear, as it gives us insight into what you’ve been wearing and helps us compare it to your updated prescription.

Retinomax (Handheld Autorefractor)

The Retinomax is a handheld device that’s especially useful for children or patients who may have difficulty with traditional testing. It uses lights, sounds, and visuals to keep patients engaged while we quickly gather accurate measurements. This makes the exam process smoother, faster, and more comfortable for both kids and parents.
